TRIGGER WARNING:

Who Has YOUR Power?

When something in life jolts you out of your desired way of being—a look, a comment, a sudden memory—and you can feel something in your body react in a not so positive way. You have just been triggered.

It is easy to believe the trigger comes from the outside, something someone says or does that has the power to make you feel something. But what if the jolt is not an outside attack, but an inside message?

A trigger is the body’s way of saying, “Pay attention.”

It points to a story still shaping you, a belief or fear that keeps calling your attention. When you notice the charge and can play with understanding what it is without judging it, you can begin to reclaim your power that was once bound up in a reaction.

This is the beginning of reclaiming lost empowerment.

Owning Your Creation

Owning your creation means being fully empowered to choose who you want to be. Every choice reveals your values, what is important to you and how you want to spend your life. To do this, you have to claim 100% responsibility for all of the choices you make.

The question is are you ready to release everything else and take full responsibility for how you show up in life?

We cannot choose everything that will happen to us in life but we are 100% responsible for what we choose to do in response to things.

Reclaiming power is not about control—it is about responsibility.

It is remembering that no one else determines who you are and your state of being. Each time you pause to consciously choose, you return to your authorship of your life. From this place, choice becomes a conscious creation grounded in personal Freedom.

Reflection Practice

1.) Recall a recent moment that felt charged or uncomfortable.

2.) Write what emotion rose first.

3.) Ask, “What is this emotion showing me about what I believe?”

4.) Notice what changes when you hold that belief in compassion instead of resistance.

5.) See if there is another way you can see or experience that particular moment.

Closing Thought

Every trigger shows you where you still can lose your power. When you meet it with curiosity, you begin to partner with your triggers as ways of understanding areas in your life that are still challenging you and where you can grow.

With love,
Marcina
