After a successful nationwide tour of theatrical screenings and community conversations, the award-winning documentary THERE IS ANOTHER WAY is going global—virtually.
Audiences around the world will have the chance to experience this powerful and timely film during THERE IS ANOTHER WAY – A Global Livestream for Peace & Humanity, a special one-day event premiering online via Eventive on Thursday June 12, 2025. There will be two showtimes to accommodate global viewers—1pm ET / 10am PT and 7pm ET / 4pm PT—each followed by a live Q&A with Director Stephen Apkon, Producer Marcina Hale, and grassroots peace organization Combatants for Peace, featured in the film.
Audiences can purchase tickets for this live event here.
At the center of THERE IS ANOTHER WAY is a group of former Israeli soldiers and Palestinian fighters who have chosen to lay down their arms and work together—nonviolently—for peace. Their story, and the daily courage it takes to choose humanity over hate, is a reminder of what’s possible in even the most entrenched conflicts.
“We’re at a moment in history when it can feel easier to choose sides and retreat into outrage,” said Apkon. “But this film shows what happens when people meet in the middle, in the hard, uncomfortable space of truth, and decide to build something new.”
The film has already been called a“weapon of peace” by bestselling author and executive producer Colum McCann, who adds: “If enough people see it, it can change the world.”
Maria Wilhelm, who’s seen firsthand the consequences of war, said “This film doesn't ask you to pick a side—it invites you to step out of the binary altogether and imagine something else. That shift in perspective could not be more urgent.”
Originally launched with in-person screening events in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and beyond, the virtual screening is part of a larger impact campaign to create space for reflection, dialogue, and reimagining what peace can look like—far beyond the headlines.
THERE IS ANOTHER WAY is produced by Apkon and Hale, alongside Keaton Cristobal, and executive produced by Colum McCann. Distributed by Area 23a Films, the release is supported by a growing coalition of peace-building organizations, spiritual communities, and social justice groups.
