Legalizing mj would put the DEA out of business. Would this be allowed? It should be. The DEA is our equivalent of the nazi gestapo. By the time the right people learn this it is to late. Arm yourself and stock up with lots of ammo. its coming.

The drug war creates a situation that not only resembles Jim Crow but that it also bears a frightening resemblance to apparteid. The rights of primarilly minority citizens are curtailed by confiscation of property, loss of voting rights, loss of student loans, exclusion from federal housing, loss of driving privileges, loss of right to bear arms, exclusion from a variety of better jobs, and removal of children from the home. Legal aid is inadequate. People (primarily minorities) enduring a drug arrest and conviction become second class citizens. Many of these things can happen based only on an arrest or accusation and confiscation of property does not even require arrest or judicial review. The arrests when they occur in a home often involve masked and highly armed militarized SWAT teams with automatic weapons throwing flash grenades, using tear gas, breaking down doors, shooting pets, and terrorizing children and other family members. Marijuana is indeed a gateway drug; it is a feeder for the criminal justice system, disproportionately for black kids.

I agree with Ms Alexander..and her statement"subordinate-status"is on point to identifying the "victim" perspective of black disenfranchised Americans...for too many, the criminalization of urban youth..is just another day of the week...If it's not one way to feed the criminal justice "cottage industry",another will be found...too much Fed money given to incarcerate folks...Black folk have always been socially expendable,...
The problem is a national problem and when it is framed as Black Leadership responsibility ,it begs the question. White leaders created this inequitable system,...and until a new era of white leaders emerge, who will make laws...education...social mobility...housing ....employment opportunities more equitable and egalitarian...when we as a society prioritize investing in people over our incessant need for material things and power ,...incarcerating a large proportion from a politically marginalized population, will continue to be the means of choice for controlling and justifying less than 100% full employment....
There's no draft....what other way can our economic system control for those who have no jobs available to them at the same time, maintaining and increasing the employability and profits of the larger ,white community
