As most Tidbits readers know, Canada has been moving closer and closer to ending drug prohibition. First their highest court declared the marijuana laws unconstitutional because they made no provision for medicinal use. Last year The Canadian Senate Committee on Illegal Drugs studied cannabis for two years, could find no harm in it, and recommended it be legalized. US Drug Czar John Walters has threatened the Canadians with trade sanctions and border restrictions to hurt tourism if they continue down that path. This week's Canadian Medical Association Journal contains an article that won't please the US Drug Czar at all but should go a long way to reassure Canadians that they are on the right course.                        (An article on the study from The Ottawa Citizen follows; a link to the original article from the journal can be found by clicking on "associated links" )
