Our laws are made by the people and for the people. American citizens can repeal laws that they believe are inhumane, ineffective, or unfair. We at ReconsiDer believe that current U.S. Drug laws are all of these things and must be changed. Across the country, other groups like us confirm that we are not alone in our beliefs.

Unfortunately, most political leaders are terrified to speak out against the War on Drugs because they believe this would cost them large blocks of votes. Our membership numbers can change that. When politicians heard millions of Americans calling for an end to the Vietnam War, they eventually ended it. Just such a grassroots movement can end the War on Drugs as well. So, please, join us. Urge your friends to do so as well.

When ReconsiDer membership numbers not in the hundreds, but in the thousands, our politicians will listen. When that happens, we will have the power to persuade them to end the laws upholding the War on Drugs, and replace them with policies that are humane, effective, and fair.
