570-WSYR

THE NEWS & WEATHER STATION
March 14, 1997

Dear Nicolas Eyle,

We at News Radio 570 WSYR would like to thank the members of ReconsiDer: Forum onDrug Policy for its help in making our "March Aainst Drugs" such a tremendous success. The kind of dialogue that we provided by presenting nearly six hours of balanced discussion of our nation's drug policy was very well received by the community.

ReconsiDer's Peter Christ (retired police Captain) did did an exceeptionally fine job discussing criminal justice issues with local assistant Districk Attorney Dick Southwick. Your Dr. Gene Tinelli was eloquent when discussing medical and educational issues opposite Marilyn Morey from the Onondaga County Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission. The hours Capt. Christ and Dr. Tinelli were each able to spend in studio with our host Joe Galuski were very much appreciated.

Another of your members, Sr. Federal Judge John Curtin, provided us with an informative interview during our news hour. We were glad that such an important figure was able to take time out of his busy schedule to speak with us by phone.

And, of course, another thank-you to Dr. Gene Tinelli for his prominent role during our remote broadcast from Lincoln Middle School. After the broadcast the school principal thanked us for airing such an honest dialogue. All other comments have also been generally favorable.

Once again, Joe Galuski, myself, and NewsRadio 570 WSYR thank you for helping us in presenting such a serious and honest discussion of drug policy.

Cordially,

Troy Skinner
